Infused with Japanese, Spanish, Afro-Dominican and African descent, Jhené aiko grew up in Ladera Heights, California - arms reach of the West Coast music scene.

She started her career in 2002 by contributing vocals and appearing in music videos for the R&B boy band, B2K. 10 years later, Jhené received her first Top 40 hit on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 Chart after appearing on Big Sean’s single Beware. By 2013, Jhené released her first EP, Sail Out, and achieved certified platinum status for her single, The Worst.

Since 2015, Jhené has been nominated for three Grammy awards, toured with j. Cole on his Forest Hills Drive Tour, and released a collaboration album with rapper Big Sean called Twenty 88 in March 2016.

Interesting fact: Jhené was named PETA’s Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity of 2016.
