Born and raised in El Paso, Texas, Yvette credits her love for Mexican food and culture to her mother and grandmother.

After her grandmother passed away in 2004, Yvette’s passion for keeping her culture alive became a high priority. She realized that cooking her family’s recipes and celebrating Mexican holidays would be the thread that would hold her culture together. In addition, her children would learn to appreciate the rich Mexican heritage.

Muy Bueno originally started as an online journal – documenting the journey of writing a cookbook.  But through time, the journal evolved into a full-blown website, where Yvette not only shares her family’s traditional recipes and Latin inspired recipes, but also her travel adventures and DIY projects.

Yvette has grown a staunch following, which has provided her the opportunity to pursue her passion beyond the blog. Among several roles, she is “…a recipe developer, spokesperson, and on-camera host for some amazing food brands…”

In addition to being an award-winning food blogger, Yvette is the author of two cookbooks: “Muy Bueno: Three Generations of Authentic Mexican Flavors,” and “Latin Twist: Traditional & Modern Cocktails,” and has been featured in: Latina Magazine, Cosmo for Latinas Magazine, Today, Siempre Mujer, Better Homes and Gardens, the HuffingtonPost, and many others.
