Elaine Quijano is a Filipino-American journalist, known as the first Asian-American to moderate a national debate, and the first moderator from a digital news network (CBSN).

Born to a mother from Batangas, and father from Davao City, Philippines, Elaine grew up with her family in Chicago, Illinois and graduated with a degree in journalism in 1995 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

From her start as an intern at WCIA-TV in Illinois, to becoming a well-respected correspondent on CNN, Elaine's impressive resume includes coverage of events such as the 9/11 terrorist attacks, space shuttle Columbia disaster, U.S. invasion in Iraq, and the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.

In 2006, Elaine was named a white house correspondent for CNN, where she stayed on for a few years until she joined CBS News in 2010. These days, you can catch her as the digital-news anchor on CBSN on weekdays, and CBS Weekend News, Sunday Edition.
