As an influential tastemaker and Youtube fashion expert, Korean-American Chriselle Lim’s road to success is definitely one for the books.
Starting her career the traditional route, Chriselle spent many years as a fashion editor, working shoots for prominent fashion books and celebrities. surprisingly enough, it was Michelle Phan, a Youtube beauty pioneer, that introduced Chriselle to the digital world in 2008! Chriselle quickly noticed that people doing fashion on Youtube were merely nonexistent, so she made the decision to upload her first video in 2011. Even without a following, Chriselle’s video received 500,000 views overnight, proving that there was a market for digitally curated, fashion content. From the success of her videos, Chriselle went on to launch her style blog, the Chriselle Factor (CINC), where she dishes beauty secrets and fashion tips. A year and a half later, she turned CINC into a full-time career, and put in work to build the company into a fledgling business within 6 years.
Chriselle is currently working to build out CINC Studios, her production company in Los Angeles, while continuing to generate killer content for women around the world.
Interesting fact: Chriselle makes an effort to visit Seoul, Korea at least once a year for inspiration and to see her grandparents.
