Born in San Francisco, California to Taiwanese parents, Alexander Wang’s confidence, style and tailoring skills position him at the forefront of luxury fashion.

Alexander began his formal fashion career at Parsons School of Design in New York City at age 19, but would quickly learn the ropes and dropout after two years to launch his namesake fashion label. By fall 2007, he launched his full women’s collection to critical acclaim, and won the council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA)/Vogue Fashion Fund Award in 2008. Within the same year, he introduced handbags to his collection, followed by a new product line each subsequent year: Women’s T by Alexander Wang (2009) and Men’s T by Alexander Wang (2010).

In 2011, Alexander opened his first flagship store in SoHo, New York. Within the years to follow, he became the Creative Director at Balenciaga, where he oversaw the women’s and men’s ready-to-wear and accessories lines from November, 2012 to July, 2015.

As of today, Alexander is focused on building his brand, which has 16 stores across 7 countries, and can be found in more than 600 stores around the world. The most notable department stores that carry the brand include Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Dover Street Market, Barneys New York, and Browns in London.

Alexander's accolades include: the Swarovski Womenswear Designer of the Year (2009), Swiss Textiles Award (2009), CFDA/Swarovski Designer of the Year Award for Accessory Design (2010), GQ U.S. Best Menswear Designer of the Year Award (2011) and the Fashion Group International’s Fashion star Award (2013), just to name a few!

Interesting fact: while studying at Parsons, Alexander interned at Vogue, Teen Vogue and Marc Jacobs.
